The Great Atlantic Hurricane of 1944 struck on September 14, damaging beachfronts all along the Jersey shore, from Asbury Park all the way down to Atlantic City.

The hurricane of 1944 devastated beachfronts all along the Eastern seaboard. The Jersey shore was particularly hard hit, with damage to boardwalks and homes from Asbury Park all the way down to Atlantic City.
